1. Definitions

“Shadowbox Sunshine Coast”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Shadowbox Sunshine Coast and its owners, coaches, employees, contractors, and affiliates.

“Member”, “you”, “your” refers to any person participating in training, classes, programs, events, or using the gym facilities.

“Facilities” includes the gym premises, equipment, classes, programs, and any off-site training locations.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By signing up, attending classes, using our facilities, or participating in any activity offered by Shadowbox Sunshine Coast, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree, you must not participate.

3. Health & Medical Responsibility

You acknowledge that:

Martial arts and physical training involve inherent risks, including injury.

You are responsible for ensuring you are medically fit to participate.

You have disclosed any relevant medical conditions, injuries, or limitations prior to training.

You will notify us immediately if your health status changes.

Shadowbox Sunshine Coast does not provide medical advice and is not responsible for determining your fitness to train.

4. Assumption of Risk

You understand and accept that participation in boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, fitness training, and related activities involves risks including, but not limited to:

Physical contact

Falls, strains, sprains, bruising

Head, joint, or muscular injuries

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, whether known or unknown.

5. Waiver & Release of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, you:

Release and hold harmless Shadowbox Sunshine Coast from any claim, injury, loss, or damage arising from participation, except where caused by negligence.

Agree not to hold Shadowbox Sunshine Coast liable for personal injury, property loss, or damage occurring on or off the premises.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Conduct & Gym Rules

You agree to:

Follow all coach instructions and gym rules.

Train in a respectful, safe, and controlled manner.

Treat staff, members, and visitors with respect.

Use equipment properly and return it after use.

We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend, or cancel membership for unsafe, disrespectful, or inappropriate behaviour.

7. Minors

Members under 18 must have parent or guardian consent.

Parents/guardians accept responsibility for the minor’s participation.

Shadowbox Sunshine Coast is not responsible for supervision of minors outside scheduled class times.

8. Memberships, Payments & Cancellations

Membership fees must be paid as agreed at sign-up.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Cancellation or suspension terms are outlined in your membership agreement or direct debit provider.

Missed classes are not refundable or transferable unless otherwise stated.

9. Personal Property

Shadowbox Sunshine Coast is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings. Lockers (if provided) are used at your own risk.

10. Photography & Media

By participating, you consent to photos or videos being taken during training for marketing or promotional purposes, unless you notify us in writing that you do not consent.

11. Privacy

We collect and store personal information for operational, safety, and communication purposes. Your information will be handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws and will not be shared without consent, except where required by law.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued participation after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes will be subject to Queensland courts.
